MONSID Winter 2023 Release v4.17

We’re proud to announce the release of MONSID® v4.17. Our Winter 2023 release was focused on improving the MONSID Toolkit web application to make it easier to review your diagnostic models (i.e. digital twins) for more precise health assessment.

The MONSID Toolkit is a great companion to the SDK. The Toolkit helps system engineers to design their models, understand Ambiguity Groups (i.e. fault isolation granularity), and view how their models interact with system data. Field operators can also use the Toolkit to view live analysis results.

For the Winter 2023 release, we made a ton of improvements to the Toolkit.

One of the biggest improvements is with user authentication. We added the capability to work with AzureAD, which opens the doors for organizations that utilize Office 365 to easily work with the Toolkit. This new authentication option compliments the existing LDAP functionality.

We also rolled out the first part of a two-part update cycle to improve the Analyze pages. These pages are focused on Ambiguity Group and fault persistence threshold tuning analysis which are helpful in the design and test phases. The Ambiguity Group analysis was improved to fully incorporate all engine-level calculations that relate to ambiguity groups. We also improved how group information is displayed and made it easier to work with a large number of Ambiguity Groups.

Finally, we went through our backlog and enhanced a variety of UI elements. We made it easier to work with large models, to more easily manage the model library, improved Topology Review, and freshened up the styling.

Toolkit changes include:

  • Azure/Office 365 credentials can now be used for authentication
  • Toolkit version is now explicitly tied to a specific SDK version
  • Improved Ambiguity Group analysis page UI and the actual analysis itself
  • Variety of fixes and changes to improve operations with large models
  • Improved the model library to make it easier to manage models
  • Improved topology review
  • Completed a variety of usability changes and UI improvements

SDK improvements include:

  • Improved compile-time checks in the math library
  • Adjusted internal names to help improve monsid api debugging
  • Updated vcpkg to 2023.12.12
